Chester-le-Street and City of Durham Enterprise Agency was formed in 1986 and over the past 22 years has helped start over 2,000 businesses and received more than 11,000 start up enquiries. The Agency, which has premises in both Durham City and Chester-le-Street, continues to provide expert advice to new and existing businesses in the area.
Offering a combination of training, one to one support and consultancy the Agency is able to draw on a massive amount of collective knowledge and experience to ensure that all clients get the service they need.

CDC has always subscribed to the notion that ‘the whole is greater than the sum of the parts’. There are a number of organisations who, like us, are concerned with improving the economy of our area.
It makes obvious sense for the Agency to combine forces in pursuit of common goals. Our work with Durham City Council, Chester-le-Street District Council, County Durham Enterprise Agencies, Business Link, ONE North East and many others is testament to this.

We Always Put the Customer First
We have become the first Enterprise Agency in Durham to achieve the Customer First Professional Standard.
This year we set ourselves the challenge to achieve the standard in 2008 and we have achieved exactly that.
The standard enables us to demonstrate that we always put the needs of our customers before our own and ensure that our service is of the highest calibre.
We have made a number of service improvements as a result of the work that we put into achieving the standard and look forward to surpassing our clients expectations of great service over the coming months.
